I suspect this is an easy question, but I cant seem to find the answer online. Essentially, Im trying to understand the SQL roles, the permissions and access they provide on a SQL server running multiple instances. In particular the impact of adding an account into the SYSAdmin role. Are they granted Sysadmin across every SQL instance or just the instance they are added to? If it makes a difference the question is in relation to all SQL servers 2008 and above.
