This may be an obvious question but i'm just getting started with sql server.
I noticed on our production server, we have the production database but there are also a couple of other test databases (restores or the production database) on the same server. They are not actively being used but they are running.
I'm wondering if there would be any performance benefit of taking them offline? How can I see the resources being used by these databases as proof that they are needlessly taking up resources on the server?
Also, I'm assuming that it's not a good practice to have these on production at all?
